“We see the world, not as it is, but as we are—or, as we are conditioned to see it.” ~ Steven R. Covey
In his book, the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Steven Covey helps you to find a balance in the areas that are not working in your life to develop habits and create an action plan to reach your goal. It is here that Covey touches upon the 7 habits to incorporate in your daily life so you can live your fullest life. Those habits are:
- Be Proactive ~ notice what is and what is not within your control; take action to change what is in your control and release what is not.
- Begin with the end in mind ~ what is your purpose of being here? What do you want to be remembered for?
- Put first things first ~ what are your priorities? Time management is huge to incorporate here.
- Think win/win ~ cooperation is key to success. Don’t compete against others but find a way to work together for the benefit of everyone.
- Seek first to understand, then to be understood ~ develop your listening skills. How can you help anyone if you aren't really listening to them?
- Synergize ~ work with others—be willing to get out there and network—to achieve success. Remember you can’t do it alone.
- Sharpen Your Saw ~ Invest in you! Take time out of your day to work on yourself physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally.
Which one of the habits are you going to implement? Has there been one that has helped transform your life?
